چکیده

Worldwide, the overwhelming number of man-made barriers in fluvial systems has been identified as one major causes reported staggering average declines migratory fish. Fish passages have shown to help mitigate such problems. Close-to-nature types fish passages, bottom ramps, bypass channels, and ramps can be used minimize impact artificial steep drops (e.g., weirs) on migration aquatic fauna, especially cases low-head barriers. This study focuses characterization flow pattern a ramp. A 3-D numerical model based meshless smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) method was successfully validated then employed for simulation turbulent free-surface straight channel with complex geometry. The effects bed roughness, slope, rate were quantified terms depth, velocity fields, area‒velocity ratios. During study, several new tools developed, leading functionalities pre-processing, solver, post-processing which increase applicability DualSPHysics field eco-hydraulics.

SNSPH: A Parallel 3-D Smoothed Particle Radiation Hydrodynamics Code

We provide a description of the SNSPH code—a parallel 3-dimensional radiation hydrodynamics code implementing treecode gravity, smooth particle hydrodynamics, and flux-limited diffusion transport schemes. We provide descriptions of the physics and parallelization techniques for this code. We present performance results on a suite of code tests (both standard and new), showing the versatility of...

A Semi-Infinite Numerical Wave Flume Using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics

This paper presents the new boundary condition implemented in the LNEC (Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil) SPH (Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics) numerical model based on the SPHysics model and on a standard SPH formulation: This piston-type wave-maker now includes dynamic wave absorption and allows the simulation of a semi-infinite flume. Verification of the active wave-maker absorption ...

Simulation of Cold Rolling Process Using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH)

Regarding the reported capabilities and the simplifications of the smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) method, as a mesh-free technique in numerical simulations of the deformation processes, a 2-D approach on cold rolling process was provided. Using and examining SPH on rolling process not only caused some minor developments on SPH techniques but revealed some physical realities. The chosen t...

Incompressible smoothed particle hydrodynamics

We present a smoothed particle hydrodynamic model for incompressible fluids. As opposed to solving a pressure Poisson equation in order to get a divergence-free velocity field, here incompressibility is achieved by requiring as a kinematic constraint that the volume of the fluid particles is constant. We use Lagrangian multipliers to enforce this restriction. These Lagrange multipliers play the...

Smoothed particle hydrodynamics

In this review the theory and application of Smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) since its inception in 1977 are discussed. Emphasis is placed on the strengths and weaknesses, the analogy with particle dynamics and the numerous areas where SPH has been successfully applied. 0034-4885/05/081703+57$90.00 © 2005 IOP Publishing Ltd Printed in the UK 1703
